Bob, Amazing story of courage. Just finished the book. Whenever I am faced with any kind of challenge, I will just remember your story. It will make my challenge seem like a kindergarten assignment. Thank you for your service and bravery in doing you job.
Cheers

In 2005 at he age of 44 I began discovering a new group of personal heroes I never knew existed. They are now an important part of my life, though they will likely never know it. Thank you Mr. Mason, for everything you've done to make this happen.

Robert,.....Every time that I jumped out of a Huey, I thought about me and not the pilots. I have since learned some of the sacrifices that you guys made for us. Your book is that source of knowledge for me. Thank you very much for your courage, your skill and your willingness to put our safety up front.
Many blessings upon you guys,
Marc Goodman

Mr. Mason,
I had a well worn 1st edition of Chickenhawk, and a recent edition as I loaned out the first one. Anyhow, I had a cousin who flew Huey's in Vietnam, was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was given a medical discharge. He never told me anything of his service time, but your book helps me understand him a bit better perhaps. He was always nice to the little pest I was. Thank you.

Just read Chickenhawk for the second time. Just as enjoyable as the first time.

Anybody know who hauled the 173rd around Vietnam in '65?

Reply to webmaster Interesting to hear from ebook readers. Chickenhawk is now available on Kindle, Nook, iBook, eBook and other formats. They weren't even ideas when the book was first published in 1984!

Dear Mr. Mason, I read Chickenhawk in 1985 in paperback. Recently I found it in perfect condition in hardcover at a bookstore and bought it immediately.

I waited a few months to start on it, but once I did, I found myself up until 2am each night until I was done.

Someone needs to make this into a movie.

Mr. Mason, I've immensely enjoyed 'Chickenhawk' ever since I read it as a sophmore in HS. I lost my first copy in Germany with the Army, and recently found a replacement. I'm now reading for probably the 20th time. You are a great writer, and I wish you the best. Thanks for an excellent read each time.

I see that the pictures of George Willmore are no longer in the system. George is the one who loaned me your book to read. It's sad, he died the way he did after all he went through. I found my own copy of Chicken Hawk and have read it twice more. George told me he was going to invite you to Idaho after he asked me how I felt about the book ending. We both knew what you were missing. He was in a wheel chair at the time, but then he passed shortly after. I had his son contact you.

Hi, just read Chickhenhawk yet again, lost count of how many times over, but yet again the emotions this brings to me astound me. From laughter to tears over and over again. God bless you and your fellow pilots and all the Vietnam Veterans. Heros not villians.

Robert, got my commercial rotorcraft a few weeks ago as an add on to an ATP. I greatly enjoyed Chickenhawk and appreciate your authentic accounts of everyday heroism - and outstanding helicopter flying. Our city just dedicated a Huey at its Veterans Park on the Lake on July 4th. It has the Cav's insignia on the front. Your book now makes that static display come alive. Many thanks!
