Dear Mr. Mason,

First of all I would like to say thank you to have your story of your Vietnam war. I am from a country which was on the other side that time. Hungary was also a communist nightmare.I did not know the true story of that war but now much more. When I read Chickenhawk first I was in Vietnam also and I was working there as a pilot also. I have not enough good elnglish to say that feeling. Thank you to flying with you over those historical places!Great! Thank you very much!!!!

Have read this book many times and learn something new every
time. Although I cannot pretend to understand or condone the
Vietnam war I consider you and the others who served to be
heroes and truly brave men. Pleased you made it home.

Mr. Mason:

I've read _Chickenhawk_ and found it an interesting and quick read.

I note that you briefly admit that you were arrested and convicted in 1981 for smuggling marijuana, a felony. Please fill us in on what happened after that.

Sir, I have read Chickenhawk many times, mostly when i have experienced life's problems, and found that your memoires helped me greatly overcome troubled times. I am currently reading your life after Vietnam book, as once again trouble is in my life. If I had the opportunity to shake anybody's hand, I would like to choose your's.

Please write another book, as trouble seems to follow me around.

Please take care and write more!

I was given Chickenhawk by my father when I was 14, I read it over that summer in awe. I'm 34 now and have read it multiple times, I'm always stunned at how your experiences in that war changed you and how you show this so well in your writing. Thank you for such an interesting and educational read.

Mr. Mason, I can't tell you how much chickenhawk has changed my perception of the vietnam war. Your book has instilled a sense of awe regarding those who served and has filled me with a love of helicopters.
I know vietnam vets were not welcomed home from the war properly and were left to their own devices to cope.
I can only say THANK YOU , not only for your service but also for sharing your story.
Sincerely.
Phil McCarthy

Dear Bob,

I have read your book several times and It's amazing.
I enjoyed it so much that I have bought and given more than a few copies to friends who I hope found it as intriguing as I did.
I would like to buy several more copies, one with your autograph for my own collection (hardcover?) (It will be the only one). Can this be done?
Thanks for your consideration and a truely great read.

Mr.Mason, I finished Chickenhawk over the holiday weekend. My brother introduced me to it and I'm very glad he did. I was born in '85 and learned very little about Vietnam; this book changed that. Your story is an amazing one and I hope to read it again sometime. I thank you for your service and efforts and sharing it with all of us. I just purchased a used copy of Weapon from Amazon and am looking forward to it. I hope you're doing well.

Mr. Mason, I first read Chickenhawk 20+ years ago as I was serving as a Flight Medic onboard UH-1H's for an Army Guard medevac unit. I've read it several times since. I've often wondered what became of you after the war. After much searching (book is out of print), I just recently acquired Back in the World and enjoyed it very much. You, sir, have lived quite an experience. From one former Huey crewman to another, God Bless you for your service, and for the many lives you saved over there.

Mr Mason: I arrived at Ft Wolters USAPHS in the summer of1969 after basic at Ft Polk. Before I set foot on the flight line, a sudden med condition took me out of flight school. From WOC to Blackbird, later artillery. I always wondered what I may have missed. Chickenhawk gave me a rare look into that world. Profound thanks. Now in my retirement, I am taking private helo flight lessons, just for fun. Perhaps it is not too late to revisit the deams of our youth. Best regards.

Mr. Mason, ever since I can remember I had the unexplainable desire to fly. Your book inspired me to take the leap. I have been flying ever since I read your book in 1991.

Best wishes for you, your wife Patience and boy.
