Sir, I have read Chickenhawk many times, mostly when i have experienced life's problems, and found that your memoires helped me greatly overcome troubled times. I am currently reading your life after Vietnam book, as once again trouble is in my life. If I had the opportunity to shake anybody's hand, I would like to choose your's. I was given Chickenhawk by my father when I was 14, I read it over that summer in awe. I'm 34 now and have read it multiple times, I'm always stunned at how your experiences in that war changed you and how you show this so well in your writing. Thank you for such an interesting and educational read. Thu, Jul 9, 2009 18:12 pm 2938

Mr. Mason, I can't tell you how much chickenhawk has changed my perception of the vietnam war. Your book has instilled a sense of awe regarding those who served and has filled me with a love of helicopters. Mon, Jul 6, 2009 21:12 pm 2936

Mr.Mason, I finished Chickenhawk over the holiday weekend. My brother introduced me to it and I'm very glad he did. I was born in '85 and learned very little about Vietnam; this book changed that. Your story is an amazing one and I hope to read it again sometime. I thank you for your service and efforts and sharing it with all of us. I just purchased a used copy of Weapon from Amazon and am looking forward to it. I hope you're doing well. Mon, Jul 6, 2009 07:10 am 2934

Mr. Mason, I first read Chickenhawk 20+ years ago as I was serving as a Flight Medic onboard UH-1H's for an Army Guard medevac unit. I've read it several times since. I've often wondered what became of you after the war. After much searching (book is out of print), I just recently acquired Back in the World and enjoyed it very much. You, sir, have lived quite an experience. From one former Huey crewman to another, God Bless you for your service, and for the many lives you saved over there. Sat, Jul 4, 2009 19:38 pm 2933

Mr Mason: I arrived at Ft Wolters USAPHS in the summer of1969 after basic at Ft Polk. Before I set foot on the flight line, a sudden med condition took me out of flight school. From WOC to Blackbird, later artillery. I always wondered what I may have missed. Chickenhawk gave me a rare look into that world. Profound thanks. Now in my retirement, I am taking private helo flight lessons, just for fun. Perhaps it is not too late to revisit the deams of our youth. Best regards. Fri, Jul 3, 2009 10:31 am 2932

Mr. Mason, ever since I can remember I had the unexplainable desire to fly. Your book inspired me to take the leap. I have been flying ever since I read your book in 1991. Thu, Jul 2, 2009 14:21 pm 2931
