Mr. Mason, I was a doorgunner in the 1st. plt. in the 129th. a. h. c.in 70-71, I have read your book Chickenhawk numerous times, I was wondering why a movie was never made of your book ? YOU capture what it was like to be on a slick better than anyone ,being on a slick or gunship was differnt as you well know, people need to know that I think, we never got the recognition we deserved.

Mr Mason,

Chickenhawk was amazing, back in the world even better.. I might even try the robot books..

Any plans to write about your life up until the present day?

The Huey is burned deep in my conciousness as I saw and read about the US fighting in Vietnam. I am 50 something. Your book is brilliant. I read it years ago and have never forgotten it. Whilst politicians make mistakes - in my humble view you made none. Good luck!!

Sikorsky had a dream as a youth, of hovering in a ship , saw a blue green ocean , with strong vibrations coming through his feet, years later, after he retired, he was taken up in one of the latest machines , looking out , saw the vision he had seen as a youth.... for what its worth, I have found that the Word's of the bible are truth, unchanging, unlike facts, IF, you find it twice ( two witnesses). Ive tested this tangibly. Perhaps you can use this to be finally set free.... Romeo Papa

I had to buy another copy. The original fell apart from over-reading.

Mister Mason,
About a year ago my Dad (about your age) gave me Chickenhawk to read. I remembered him talking about it when I was younger so I picked it up. After the first read I knew I was very intrigued by helicopters. 7 or 8 reads later and I realized I'm obsessed. In the spring of 09 I am starting my training. I know you must get hundreds of these emails but you greatly impacted my life with your work. And I just wanted to thank you.
