Mr. Mason
My dad gave me ChickenHawk and though I have yet to finish it (almost there) I felt the need to come here. I am doing a Repot for my Air Force Jr. ROTC class. We had the option of either a plane or helicopter and I picked the Huey. I want to be a Pilot my self but I want to fly jets. I would like to know more about the Huey do you happen to know any where I can find another good book on the Huey (It wont be as good as ChickenHawk)
Thank you
Cadet Airman Maranto

Dear Mr. Mason;

I read Chickenhawke yeasr ago, and it fueled my aviation dreams and made me want to be a pilot. Instead, I became a soldier, then a writer, and am now finally pursuing my aviation goals.

Outstanding book.

After signing you guestbook last month, I found Chickenhawk at the library and read it again. I have found that even reading about it brings up many memories. Never seem to stop dealing with the images. I even bought a copy and sent it to my brother. He would always ask, and I could never put it into words.

Again, thanks.

Picked up a copy of Chickenhawk at our local pub that has an informal book exchange, couldn't put it down until I finished it. Very well done, Thank You. I'm returning the book to be read by someone else.

I have just finished reading chickenhawk and I think it is possibly the best book I ever read i love helicopters and plan on becoming an RAF helicopter pilot. You have written in a non war glamourising way which I think is brilliant did you ever stop having the nightmares and wake up in the middle of the night and if so what stopped it ?

Thanks and Good luck

Declan

Mr. Mason, I've enjoyed your books, wish you would continue to write. My friends and I also live with PTSD. The only thing that gives us any peace is helping other vets with their VA benifits, anti-recruitment and protesting. None of us can begin to heal until the traitors that send children to die for their profits are punished. I also thank your wife for her book, she has helped many of our wives.
Thank you and peace,
Steve King

Tossed all of my old paperbacks into a box the other day,
destined for a recycling plant. Closing the box, I spotted my worn
out copy of CHICKENHAWK, sitting atop the pile. Saved it. Read
it AGAIN. Thanks, Robert.

Read it sometime ago. I was a gunner on Huey Gunships there in 1967. Very few times have I been able to explain what and how we did it. Thanks. I've had family and friends read it. Gives a little better perspective on what we saw.
