Mr Mason
Thank you for this book. Have been interested in Nam and the war there for a while and your book gave a great insight it to what it was like and the people over there. I especially enjoyed the description of your shooting the gauge from inside the helicopter, brings a smile to my face everyime I think about it!
Thank you so much and hope all is well with you now.

James

Mr. Mason. I was a U.S. Army mechanic from '86-'90, and a HUGE helicopter buff. I took "Chickenhawk" downrange and literally finished it in 3 sessions. I HATED reading in H.S., and this is the only book post high school I have ever read. Too good to put down. Your details on copter controls and WOC school are amazing! Thanks for putting out a book that a non reader like me could not put down!

Robert,
I have just finished reading your book, Chickenhawk. It ceratiainly was an honest insight to an era that must have been particularly challenging. The book certainly conveys and evokes many emotions to the reader through your honest description of the events.
Regards,
Tom.

Justg reread Chckenhawk after quite a few years. Probably enjoyed it more and have told quite a few people it is my favorite. Served at NSA Danang as a corpsman in the Naval Hospital there in 69 and 70. Mostly 46's landed there but a few hueys mainly because we had neurosurgery. Hope is all well with you and you have recovered from your frightful experiences.

Mr. Mason. I just finished your book 'Chickenhawk". It brought back a lot of memories of Viet Nam, the banter and camaraderie and the craziness of the army. I served from 1967 -68. I think your book should be required reading for veterans. I bought 'Chickenhawk' when it first came out and remember starting it. I found it again and enjoyed the read. Thank you for sharing. Best of luck.

Just finished Chickenhawk. Got it in flight school and never found time to sit down and read it. Now I'm flying gunships in Iraq and I've had some downtime to give to intellectual improvement. I'm burning a lot of holes in the sky over here and your book gave me some excitement. Thanks and take care.

I am a retired aviator. I joined the Army in 1970. I flew UH-1H aircraft for about 10 years in the US, Germany and Panama. I have read your book several times and I am able to put myself in the cockpit with you. I noticed you you have changed a little after looking at you in your recent photos, such is life. I thank you for your service in the military and your great contribution to the history of the Vietnam War. God bless!
John

Mr. Mason
I have read your books many times and was always inspired by your story. I just returned from a tour in Iraq where I flew UH-60's for the Army. You inspired me to write a book about my experiences in Iraq and my years flying helicopters in Bush Alaska. Thanks again for your service and your inspiration. JC
